Abstract:Summary
Many approaches for solving stochastic inverse problems suffer from both stochastic and deterministic sources of error. The finite number of samples used to construct a solution is a common source of stochastic error. When computational models are expensive to evaluate, surrogate response surfaces are often employed to increase the number of samples available for approximating the solution. This leads to a reduction in finite sampling errors while the deterministic error in the evaluation of each sampl… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
