Abstract:We report a case of enterococcal bacteremia caused by Enterococcus casseliflavus in a middle-aged female with adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. This individual had undergone previous biliary tract surgery 7 months prior and was currently undergoing active chemotherapy treatment with gemcitabine. She coincidently also had a lower urinary tract infection with Escherichia coli. She was successfully treated with intravenous (IV) ceftriaxone and IV ampicillin.
