Environmental quality mediates the ecological dominance of cooperatively breeding birds

Abstract: Although social species as diverse as humans and ants are among the most abundant organisms on Earth, animals cooperate and form groups for many reasons. How these different reasons for grouping affect a species' ecological dominance remains unknown.
