Abstract:Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a method for detecting antigens and antibodies in biological fluids. The method is characterized by high accuracy and sensitivity, and allows determining not only the qualitative, but also the quantitative composition of antigens and antibodies in the body. In medicine, enzyme immunoassay is used to detect diseases that are provoked by microorganisms of variious classes, from viruses to parasites, as well as to diagnose autoimmune diseases.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
