EPDL97: the evaluated photo data library `97 version

Abstract: The Evaluated Photon Data Library, 1997 version (EPDL97), is designed for use in photon transport calculations at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This library includes photon interaction data for all elements with atomic number between Z = 1 (hydrogen) and 100 (fermium), including: photoionization, photoexcitation, coherent and incoherent scattering, and pair and triplet production cross sections. For use in applications data is provided for all elements over the energy range 1 eV to 100 GeV. This repo… Show more

“…In addition, fluorescence emission from excited atoms is also generated; the implementation of the Auger effect is in progress. The implementation of electron and gamma processes is based on the exploitation of evaluated data libraries (EPDL97 [63], EEDL [64] and EADL [65]) that provide data for the determination of cross-sections and the sampling of the final state. A simulation based on Geant4 low energy processes for photons and electrons is compared with experimental data in Fig.…”

“…The basic set of gamma models in the EM physics packages includes models developed for HEP applications [30], models based on the Livermore evaluated data library [36] and a Cþ þ implementation of the Penelope 2008 model [37]. Recent releases of GEANT4 have included revised versions of existing models, and the addition of new gamma physics processes and models.…”
