“…In the majority of boys with a cryptorchidism, there is a patent processus vaginalis (2). The incidence of the epididymal anomalies is higher in association with ipsilateral patency of the processus vaginalis (71 to 78%) than with ipsilateral closure (16 to 38%) (2,3,6). Mininberg and Schlossberg found that if there was a patent processus Vaginalis, 78% of boys with undescended testis had epididymal anomalies, whereas only 38% had an abnormal epididymis if there was no associated hernia (2).…”

“…(7) epididim anomalisi oranının normal fetuslerde % 4 iken inmemiş testis olan fetuslerde % 35 olduğunu göstermişlerdir. İnme-miş testis hastalarında tespit edilen epididim anomalileri çoğunlukla, epididm yapılarının uzaması veya epididimin açılaşması olarak tariflenen, duktal süs-pansiyon anomalileridir (9,10,12,16,18) . DePalma ve ark.…”

“…With the retention of the testicles in the abdominal cavity, the seminiferous tubules become atrophic as a result of the increase in temperature, which is unfavorable for spermatogenesis [10,11]. Although the testis are severely damaged, cryptorchidism may be considered a primary congenital illness of both testis and spermatic ducts, since that gross structural abnormalities have been often described in the human epididymis and vas deferens with cryptorchidic testes [7,8,12,17,18]. Furthermore, some histological alterations have been also described to epididymis and vas deferens from cryptorchidic testis [8,18].…”
