Estimation of latency in embedded real-time systems

Abstract: A semi-Markov process, as a model of interpretation of an algorithm by embedded controller is considered. Generation of transactions in digital controllers as a result of random wandering on states of semi-Markov process is described. Mathematical expressions for evaluation of stochastic characteristics and time lag densities between transactions are obtained. Latencies between transactions is considered as an important parameter for proper synthesis of control algorithms in real-time embedded digital control … Show more

“…With regard to parallel CS, this problem is called the prediction of the execution time of complex software systems; the latter are usually defined by graph models and are considered as complexes of interrelated jobs (CIJ)tasks and / or their parallel-sequential fragments (subtasks, processes, program modules) [4][5][6][7][8].…”

“…In [9,10] matrix expressions for evaluation of time intervals were obtained, but they are cumbersome enough for practice use. So, the known approach needs high computational resources, commensurable with compilation of program and experimental evaluation of time intervals under consideration [11,12].…”

“…As a result, it is possible to state that, to a certain degree, the result is an intellectual optimized system of choice-making [13,16,17]. The paper describes multi-criterion fuzzy management of computing resources with the help of linguistic variables, based on cluster analysis proposed by the authors [11][12][13]. The authors suggest using the settheoretic approach [8,9] that allows partitioning the input processing program into non-overlapping sets of equivalence classes, meeting such requirements as reflexivity, symmetry and transitivity, and further to implement cluster management of computing resources.…”
