“…Es evidente, según nuestros resultados, el valor pronós-tico de mortalidad de la IL-6 sobre todo al 3. er día, según revela la curva ROC y la comparación entre ellas (ingreso y 3. er día de evolución), muestra una mejor área que el Apache II, por lo que debemos deducir que predecirá la mortalidad incluso aún mejor que dicho índice y lo complementará en muchos casos ya que la comparación de ambas curvas no muestra diferencias. Algunos autores confirman nuestros resultados 22 , habiendo encontrado otros una correlación importante entre la IL-6 y la mortalidad en pacientes con sepsis severa y FMO 23 . Otro hallazgo a destacar es que el lactato, sobre todo en el 3. er día de evolución, también tiene valor predictivo de mortalidad, aunque no fue el objetivo principal de nuestro estudio.…”
