Tactile, sensors and nanosensors technologies have emerged as a burgeoning area of study in both academic and industrial realms. Recent progress has showcased the practical application of tactile sensors in biomedical engineering, unlocking possibilities for the development of versatile electronic skin (e-skin) that mimics the human sense of touch for medical purposes. The current smart tactile sensing technology offers notable advantages including high performance, cost-effectiveness, time efficiency and ease of fabrication. The capacity to detect and analyze physical impulses through touch is known as tactile sensing, and recent developments in sensor technology have opened up new avenues for creative uses in the medical industry. This chapter provides an in-depth exploration of tactile sensing technology and its transformative role in medical applications.
