“…If sulfate esters have been detected in the abnormal gastric mucosa [9,20,21,26,30] in intestinal meta plasia or carcinoma, histochemical reactions are negative in the normal con ditions [20. 21], On the other hand, there is a possible contamination from upper digestive secretions during the collection, more especially as SGP are present in the human saliva [24] and in the human bronchial mucus [16]. The present work is an attempt to elucidate this problem by putting side by side some observations in patients: in vivo tracer studies with radiosulfate, collec tion of uncontaminated gastric juice and exploration of other sources of contamination of the gastric juice.…”
