“…Obesity turned out to be one of the leading causes of morbidity and premature mortality worldwide, and during the recent global pandemic it has been associated to higher mortality rates related to COVID-19 (Alberca et al, 2021;Simonnet et al, 2020). Obesity also represents an important socio-economic concern, as it gives rise to increased health expenditure, productivity loss, and economic stigmatization, like reduced employment opportunities and lower wages (Clément et al, 2020) and complexities in subjective perception of wellbeing (Becchetti et al, 2023) and in nutrition-related consumer dynamics (Drichoutis et al, 2009;Gwozdz et al, 2019;Ortiz et al, 2022).
