Again, as typical of all interlaboratory studies, the primary motivation for the M 2 QAP studies has been to help “participants gain insight into their own performance and into the comparability of analytical results.” It was thus with some surprise and concern that our recent retrospective characterization of community-wide measurement performance concluded that “Better and more consistently implemented intra laboratory standardization, quality control, and quality assurance methods are required to improve inter laboratory measurement comparability.” 1…”
