Evaluating and visualizing QoS of service providers in knowledge-intensive crowdsourcing: a combined MCDM approach

Abstract: PurposeAs the number of joined service providers (SPs) in knowledge-intensive crowdsourcing (KI-C) continues to rise, there is an information overload problem for KI-C platforms and consumers to identify qualified SPs to complete tasks. To this end, this paper aims to propose a quality of service (QoS) evaluation framework for SPs in KI-C to effectively and comprehensively characterize the QoS of SPs, which can aid the efficient selection of qualified SPs.Design/methodology/approachBy literature summary and di… Show more

“…This method of data collection is commonly used in decision making studies under an uncertain environment. For example, Ayağ and Samanlioglu (2021), Xie et al (2022), Maduekwe and Oke (2021) collected data of their case studies based on opinions or judgments from a group of experts. Some other researchers used numerical examples (Farid and Riaz, 2022; Patel and Shah, 2021) to demonstrate the applicability of their proposed method.…”

“…Due to the overwhelming number of service providers (SP) in crowdsourcing, the management of information is a rising issue. Shixin Xie et al [18] intend to present an evaluation framework for quality of service (QoS) for SPs in KI-C to accurately and thoroughly characterize the QoS of SPs, which can help with the effective selection of qualified SPs. In order to use the collective intelligence of a large number of people, a task may be outsourced to an online marketplace for crowdsourcing.…”
