Evaluating Cardiac Surgeon Performance

Abstract: This paper uses data envelopment analysis to explore how to evaluate physician and hospital clinical efficiency for coronary artery bypass surgery. First, the DEA models (measuring overall technical and scale efficiency partitioned by severity) identified many inefficient surgeons.
