Abstract:A technique for the evaluation of the seakeeping performance of destroyer-type ships is presented and applied to four radically different hypothetical ship designs. The procedure involves first the determination of the responses of the four ships to realistic North Atlantic sea spectra, using linear superposition techniques, and assuming the vessels are in short-crested, irregular head seas. Calculations are based upon theoretical response amplitude operators obtained by applying strip theory to determine the … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
