The rapid growth of Internet has given extraordinary opportunities to organizations and business to provide services via the Internet (E-services). Moreover, E-services became a key aspect of any organization competitiveness. In Jordan, most of the universities provide different e-services portals to their students. This paper aims to investigate and explore the association between e-services web portals information quality and ICT competence in the Jordanian universities. The current research conducted by using survey questionnaires on a large population from Jordanian Universities. Specifically, 428post and undergraduate students answered the survey from different faculties at the Jordanian Universities. Results found a positive relationship between e-services web portals information quality and ICT competence. Results of T-test indicated that there is no significant difference in the relationship between information quality and ICT competence in the Jordanian universities due to gender and faculty type respectively; whereas the results as found a significant difference in the relationship between information quality and ICT competence due to university type. Also, results of ANOVA test indicated that there is no significant difference in the relationship between information quality and ICT competence in the Jordanian universities that can be attributed to academic year level, and academic degree level.

The Usefulness of User Testing Methods in Identifying Problems on University Websites

This paper aims to investigate the usefulness of three user testing methods (observation, and using both quantitative and qualitative data from a post-test questionnaire) in terms of their ability or inability to find specific usability problems on university websites. The results showed that observation was the best method, compared to the other two, in identifying large numbers of major and minor usability problems on university websites. The results also showed that employing qualitative data from a post-test questionnaire was a useful complementary method since this identified additional usability problems that were not identified by the observation method. However, the results showed that the quantitative data from the post-test questionnaire were inaccurate and ineffective in terms of identifying usability problems on such websites.

Abstract. Usability is widely considered to be an essential attribute for fulfilling the quality requirements of any software product. In context to web based products especially web sites, usability is the process for making the navigational prospects more user friendly and task effectiveness to meet user's satisfaction. If any website fails to navigate a user to his respective goals, then the user loses his interest and considers it as a less usable website. For simplicity, if any software fails to meet user's need and satisfaction then it is considered as less usable and poor productive. This paper aims to survey on some usability evaluation techniques and factors that are helpful for usability measurement of web and intelligence computing.
