This paper aims to improve the implementation standards of solar-energy-based street lighting in Indonesia. A model framework was developed to assess existing conditions regarding the level of lux, the distance between poles, pole height, and lamp power. According to the evaluation of the existing circumstances, the street lighting system is not satisfactory according to the national standard, with 64.7% black area. An alternative installation of street lighting designed by DIALux application was proposed to fulfill the technical standard of street lighting. The result shows that this alternative design can be used for renewing existing street lighting with better performance and reliability. Economic analysis of all technically feasible alternatives was conducted afterward by benefit–cost analysis. The analysis shows that solar-energy-based street lighting requires as much as 621,473,620.00 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), with 1.06 benefit–cost ratios and a 9% reduction of total cost. Therefore, the analysis indicates that solar-energy-based technology can be feasibly implemented in a street lighting system. The results show that the proposed model can be applied to improve the implementation standard of solar-energy-based street lighting.

This study investigated the effect of dust to the performance degradation of PV street lights deployed at several areas (coastal, urban, industry, and village) in Kupang city. Results showed that maximum power output (Pmax) of all modules decreased by 9 % to 14 %. Short circuit current (Isc) was the parameter strongly affected by dust compared to opencircuit voltage (Voc). Performance of the PV modules increased back to their initial conditions after cleaning. This was indicated by the increasing of Isc and Voc of the modules that leading to the escalating of their Pmax values. The worst effect of dust was exhibited by PV modules installed at coastal area. A simple analysis revealed that the module would lose 87.75 Wh of energy d–1. This study suggested that dust derating factor applied for PV street light design in Kupang should be higher than the standard (5 %)

The tight competition in the industrial world has spurred companies to be fast and responsive in producing quality products. This article is a development and refinement of Asyifa & Sutopo's (2017) article in analyzing the feasibility of investing in a painting machine to solve the bottleneck problem at CV. Creative 71. The previous analysis was evaluated and recalculated using more comprehensive and accurate data. The choice of the depreciation method based on a combination of the straight-line method and the DL method can result in a significant depreciation amount being charged at the beginning of the investment. While the tax used is 1% of gross income by the provisions of Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No 23 years 2018. This article considers the rupiah exchange rate changes and aspects of the relationship between each key parameter in the proposed investment. The results obtained are NPV of Rp.312,897,652, IRR value of 21.951%, PP value for 0.048 years, and PI value of 66.152%. And B/C ratio of 4,004. From a financial point of view, it shows the investment in adding a CV. Creative 71 painting machine can be considered feasible because the calculated values have met the proposed indicator limits.
