Abstract: Background: Chronic cough (CC), a cough that lasts > 8 weeks, has an overall prevalence of 5‐11% in adults, peaking between 60 and 80 years of age. Of the 15% of patients who remain undiagnosed or refractory to treatment, two thirds are women.
