Highways are one of the transportation infrastructures frequently used in Indonesia. Due to the road's construction on unstable soil, it is currently in a vulnerable state of failure. Since areas with good soil characteristics are limited, sometimes structures need to be built on problematic soils. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of the problematic soil to reduce the potential threat of road damage caused by the problematic subgrade. One of the attempts is using preloading for soil improvement. This research focuses on how to overcome soft soil consolidation with the preloading method using GeoStudio software. The analysis's outcomes, which were examined by software, will be compared to calculations before improvement. SIGMA/W and SLOPE/W analyses provided by GeoStudio were performed by using two different types of embankments, i.e.,
