Evaluation of differences between Chiralpak IA and Chiralpak AD‐RH amylose‐based chiral stationary phases in reversed‐phase high‐performance liquid chromatography

Abstract: Polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases can be used for the enantioselective separation of a wide range of structurally different compounds. These phases are available with chiral selectors coated or immobilized on silica gel support. The means of attachment of the chiral selector to the carrier can influence the separation performance of these stationary phases. This paper deals with evaluation of differences in the separation abilities of coated Chiralpak AD-RH versus immobilized Chiralpak IA amylose-b… Show more

“…Among many different chiral stationary phases that are commercially available today, polysaccharide (derivatized cellulose or amylose)-based CSPs have a dominant position. They are used successfully in HPLC, CEC and SFC [9][10][11][12][13][14][15].…”

“…Transfer of the separation regime to the RP separation mode provided baseline resolution of the individual enantiomers, which could be used to a semipreparative scale application. RP separation mode can in some cases be profitable because of specific advantages with respect to the adsorption mode .…”

“…Kalíková et al [38] compared two commercially available polysaccharide-based CSPs containing amylose tris-(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) chiral selector, coated and immobilized on silica support, under different separation conditions. The immobilized CSP, Chiralpak IA, and coated CSP, Chiralpak AD-RH, had comparable enantiorecognition potential for acidic analytes in the RP-HPLC mode.…”
