Evaluation of endoscopic and histological findings in Helicobacter pylori‐positive Japanese young adults

Abstract: The study shows that H. pylori infection is strongly associated with chronic gastritis and peptic ulcers, and that histological corpus gastritis was found with high frequency in Japanese young adults.

“…The difference in endoscopic surveillance and baseline atrophic gastritis of patients between their study and ours might have contributed to the difference in detection rates. In our recent study, 22 histological corpus gastritis was found with high frequency in young H. pylori-positive patients. Therefore, we recommend that eradication of H. pylori should be attempted to prevent gastric cancer in young H. pyloripositive patients.…”
