“…The diagnostic value of DWMRI with sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive, negative predictive and accuracy values in our study was obtained with a mean lesion diameter of 37 8 2.7 mm. DWMRI has similar accuracy values to ultrasound for the diagnosis of tumoral lesions of this size and ultrasound is an easily available, cost-effective and safely performed technique for all individuals with no restrictions if adequate bladder distension is maintained [16] . Another limitation was the exclusion of lesions under 1 cm during the analysis.…”

“…The homogeneous opacification of urine has been claimed to improve bladder cancer detection, particularly on the nondependent surface of the bladder. Specialized techniques have been suggested, such as having patients void prior to CT and then administering intravenous diuretics to increase bladder filling (13,29,30).…”

“…Knox et al [19], in a study comparing CT urography and ultrasonography for diagnosing BCa, found specificities of CT urography and ultrasonography for the diagnosis of BCa to be similar, CT urography ¼ 96.5%, ultrasonography ¼ 94.7%, but CT urography was more sensitive (Se ¼ 89.7%) than ultrasonography (Se ¼ 69%). In patients testing positive on CT urography or ultrasonography, it is suggested that initial assessment by flexible cystoscopy is replaced by direct referral to rigid cystoscopy for more thorough evaluation and possible biopsy and transurethral resection (TUR).…”
