Evaluation of Waste Energy Utilization for Downhole Steam Generation: Application to Alaskan Arctic Environment

Abstract: Steamflooding and steam stimulation are the most popular methods for the recovery of heavy oil. Usually, the steam for these methods is generated at the surface. However, surface steam generation is not economically feasible in deep reservoirs due to excessive wellbore heat losses and high injection pressures.
