Evidence for an alternative insulin transporter at the blood-brain barrier

Abstract: Accumulating evidence suggests there is an alternative insulin transporter besides the insulin receptor at the blood-brain barrier (BBB), responsible for shuttling insulin from the circulation into the brain.
