“…The MIC-ND cell line was derived from the lymphocytes of a healthy Asian Indian donor, whose cells have also been studied as cell RCE 43 of the rare cell exchange of the British Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics. Serological analysis of the peripheral blood lymphocytes showed that MIC-ND types as HLA-A2, 26(10); Cw9(3); B40MC, 51 (5), where B40MC is a previously described variant B40 antigen encoded by the common B*4002 allele (1,2). Further analysis using the panel of antibodies from the Tenth International Histocompatibility Workshop (3) showed the A26 antigen of MIC-ND (A26MIC) is "shorter" than the normal A26 antigen.…”

“…Tissue Antigens 1994: 44: 51-58. 0 Munksgaard, 1994 Using alloantisera from the 8th, 9th and 10th International Histocompatibility Workshops, Kennedy et al (1) obtained "evidence for two new splits of HLA-B40". The B40HL variant reacted with fewer sera from the 8th and 10th workshop than the B61 split of B40, while appearing similar to B61 in reactions with sera from the 9th workshop.…”

“…The SHI-N D cell of serological type HLA-A24,26: Cw9; B40MC is of Japanese origin, and the NKL cell of serological type HLA-A2,A26; Cw9,w 10; B40HL,B58 is of Chinese origin. Both cells were described in the analysis of Kennedy et al (1).…”
