Ensuring security for modern IoT systems requires the use of complex methods to analyze their software. One of the most in-demand methods that has repeatedly been proven to be effective is static analysis. However, the progressive complication of the connections in IoT systems, the increase in their scale, and the heterogeneity of elements requires the automation and intellectualization of manual experts’ work. A hypothesis to this end is posed that assumes the applicability of machine-learning solutions for IoT system static analysis. A scheme of this research, which is aimed at confirming the hypothesis and reflecting the ontology of the study, is given. The main contributions to the work are as follows: systematization of static analysis stages for IoT systems and decisions of machine-learning problems in the form of formalized models; review of the entire subject area publications with analysis of the results; confirmation of the machine-learning instrumentaries applicability for each static analysis stage; and the proposal of an intelligent framework concept for the static analysis of IoT systems. The novelty of the results obtained is a consideration of the entire process of static analysis (from the beginning of IoT system research to the final delivery of the results), consideration of each stage from the entirely given set of machine-learning solutions perspective, as well as formalization of the stages and solutions in the form of “Form and Content” data transformations.

The traditional monolithic approach is widely employed in centralized software development, deployment, and reusability, as the modules are tightly connected, causing several challenges in programming. The study utilized different techniques for the easy transformation of several running monolithic applications to micro services including, Angular 2, REST API, Web application and several other architectural approaches are discussed. This review paper highlights the significance of microservices and the transformation of monolithic applications towards microservices. As multiple software applications are an integral part of a traditional monolithic application, the modules cannot be extended separately, and different modules cannot use various technology stacks. So, monolithic source code must be migrated to the microservice platform in order to extend `the lifecycle of applications in today's environment. However, due to structural complexity, scattered application logic, and dependency upon external framework libraries, the transformation towards a microservices platform is quite challenging. A Microservice architecture is a container of loosely coupled independent services making a flexible system. In this study, potential areas for the transformation of monolithic application source code are highlighted. Furthermore, key challenges and open research issues in this area are highlighted, requiring the research community's attention. The study concludes that Microservices are not a one-size-fits-all solution for every challenging situation. Monolithic transformation requires significant amount of time and effort on the part of everyone in the business.

The software architecture of systems contains vital information for both functional and nonfunctional requirements of system stakeholders. Software systems are designed and implemented with respect to their architectures in mind. Hence, architecture conformance analysis is important to ensure that the implemented system has not deviated from the intended architecture and thus the requirements.Software architectures can be used when guiding software development, communicating between stakeholders, deciding on organizational structures and analysing software systems. Therefore, deviating from intended software architecture can create both organizational and system-wise flaws. Domain Driven AnalysisIn order to answer RQ3 in chapter 5, we adopted a domain-driven analysis methodology. A well-known process for analysing and modelling the current state of the art of a particular domain is domain analysis. Domain analysis is the process of identifying and capturing domain knowledge about the problem domain with the purpose of making it reusable when creating new systems [41][46][53][84]. The aforementioned domain refers to "an area of knowledge or activity characterized by a set of concepts and terminology understood by practitioners in that area". Like many application domains Big Data has become a very important driver for innovation and growth for e-government which aims to automate the public services to citizens. In general, e-government systems are often characterized as big data systems in which data storage and processing is one of the business-critical concerns. However, different features are required for different e-government systems, and likewise the corresponding big data architectures will need to be different as well. In this chapter, we present a systematic approach for the design of various big data architectures within the e-government domain. In this context, we adopt a big data reference architecture with a variability model for big data systems and e-government systems. We discuss the design decisions, the experiences and the lessons learned for deriving application architectures for different e-government systems.
