Evolution of phenylthiocarbamide taster trait in Mysore, South India

Abstract: BACKGROUND:The ability to taste phenylthiocarbamide (PTC), a bitter chemical has long been known to be a heritable trait, which is being widely used for both genetic and anthropological studies.
