Evolution support in heterogeneous service-oriented landscapes

Abstract: We present an approach that provides automatic or semi-automatic support for evolution and change management in heterogeneous legacy landscapes where (1) legacy heterogeneous, possibly distributed platforms are integrated in a service oriented fashion, (2) the coordination of functionality is provided at the service level, through orchestration, (3) compliance and correctness are provided through policies and business rules, (4) evolution and correctness-by-design are supported by the eXtreme Model Driven Deve… Show more

“…Currently, an ERP system is just one of the many information systems used in organizations (Oman, 2011).The scope of ERP has advanced to Extended ERP or ERPII, in which the traditional ERP is integrated with other operational systems such as SCM (Supply Chain Management) and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) (Vathanophas, 2007). During the years, different technological solutions, including EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) have been introduced to solve the integration issues between these systems (Margaria et al, 2010;Wang and Zhang, 2005). A modern ERP is often accessed by mobile devices from different locations (Frank and Kumar, 2012;Jankowska and Kurbel, 2005).…”

“…Several authors address the evolution of particular types of models and focus on special challenges in this context. Examples are the evolution of reactive systems [172], software architectures [87] and workflow descriptions [46,139], e.g., based on domain-specific languages [120,84] and domain-specific modeling [39,128,159].…”
