Expanded Age Indication for Ponseti Method for Correction of Congenital Idiopathic Talipes Equinovarus: A Systematic Review

Abstract: The deformity known as congenital idiopathic talipes equinovarus (CTEV) is probably the most common (1 to 2 in 1000 live births) congenital orthopedic condition requiring intensive treatment. With the perception that the treatment of idiopathic CTEV by extensive soft tissue release is often complicated by stiffness, recurrence, and the need for additional procedures, the minimally invasive Ponseti method has been accepted as the first line of treatment, which has achieved excellent results globally. The Ponset… Show more

“…Table 1 shows the details of the parameters of the scanning device in the proposed system while acquiring the planar pressure distribution imaging dataset using the RS-Scan Footscan 7.0 software system (as shown in Fig.9). Twenty testee (5 Flat foot (F), 5 Talipes Equinovarus (TE) [36] and 10 normal (N)) were involved in the thirty minutes of four times test, and the data was acquired subsequently. Furthermore, the system can also calculate the pressure information in different zone (shown in Figure.…”
