Expected value of first Zagreb connection index in random cyclooctatetraene chain, random polyphenyls chain, and random chain network

Abstract: The Zagreb connection indices are the known topological descriptors of the graphs that are constructed from the connection cardinality (degree of given nodes lying at a distance 2) presented in 1972 to determine the total electron energy of the alternate hydrocarbons. For a long time, these connection indices did not receive much research attention. Ali and Trinajstić [Mol. Inform. 37, Art. No. 1800008, 2018] examined the Zagreb connection indices and found that they compared to basic Zagreb indices and that t… Show more

“…It appears that the working exhaust hood plays an important role in reducing indoor CO concentration. By comparing the data in cases with an idle exhaust hood, the CO concentrations in Cases 7 and 9 both increase first and then decrease, while those in Case 10 have a greater fluctuation and no obvious regularity, which bears similarity to the study of the fluctuation indices in chemistry [33,34]. This may be attributed to the stronger convection when the door and window are opened simultaneously.…”

“…In the work presented in (Raza, 2022), expected values for the harmonic and second Zagreb indices were determined for random spiro chains and polyphenyl. Additionally, Raza et al (Raza et al, 2023b), computed the expected value of the first Zagreb connection index in random cyclooctane chains, random polyphenyl chains, and random chain networks. Explicit formulas for the expected values of certain degree-based topological descriptors of random phenylene chains were provided by Hui et al (Hui et al, 2023).…”

“…Harold Wiener first utilized and described it in 1947, which enabled him to compare the boiling temperatures of several alkane isomers. Zahid Raza recently calculated the predicted values of the first Zagreb connection index in a random cyclooctatetraene chain, random polyphenyls chain, and random chain network of l, octagons, hexagons, and pentagons [6] .…”
