Abstract:The authors describe a successful complex surgical treatment of a patient with chronic postoperative osteomyelitis of the sternum and ribs. It included surgical treatment of a purulent focus, local treatment with negative pressure, and plastic reconstruction of the anterior chest wall with autografts when the wound process transformed into the reparative stage.
