Experiences in a study abroad utilizing deliberate psychological education

Abstract

Faculty‐led study abroad programs promote professional and personal development for counseling students. Through interpretive phenomenological analysis, we explored how Latine bilingual counseling students (N = 7) experienced a study abroad utilizing Deliberate Psychological Education. We organized findings into three themes that spoke to cultural immersion, presence and validation, and connections.
