Experimental Analysis of an All Optical NOT Gate and Latch based on an Externaly Clamped Semiconductor Optical Amplifier

Abstract: An all-optical NOT gate is experimentally demonstrated recurring to external gain clamping of a semiconductor optical amplifier. Latch principle is subsequently demonstrated with the aid of an optical ring laser, using off-theshelf devices.
