Experimental And Calculated By The DFT Method Vibration Spectra Of Berberine

Abstract: Natural alkaloid berberine has long been used in medicine for treating a number of diseases. Moreover, recently berberine was found to possess antitumor properties. Such activity of alkaloid is attributed to its ability to build into the DNA macromolecule by blocking the processes of replication and transcription [1]. To clarify the mechanism of therapeutic effect of berberine it is necessary to know the mechanisms of its complexation with DNA. Earlier [2] by the Raman spectroscopy method we revealed the fact … Show more

“…The C = O stretching in 1730 cm −1 , characteristic peak of this hydrogel, shifted to 1721 cm −1 . The infrared spectra did not show absorption bands of the typical bridges resulted from the reaction of the hydrogel and BS [10] [29]. It seem just characteristic bands from BS.…”

“…The unique biomedical properties and widespread use of BER have led to its numerous physicochemical studies using NMR [57–59], vibrational [60–62], Raman [63], and optical [64–70] spectroscopy, radiolysis [71] and also quantum chemical calculations [57,60,62,72]. Knowledge and understanding of the optical properties of BER are of particular importance for its use as a fluorescent probe and due to the widespread use of optical spectroscopy to study its complexes.…”
