Abstract:Compounds [n-C n H 2n+1 N(CH 3 ) 3 ] 2 CoCl 4 (n=16, C 16 C 3 Co; n=18, C 18 C 3 Co) containing lipid-like bilayers embedded in a crystalline matrix exist in solid-solid phase transition. The low-temperature bilayer structures of the two compounds were organized by neutralizing CoCl 4 2− with alkylammonium ions. Alkyl chains lay parallel to each other and slightly tilted with respect to the normal of the inorganic layers. The adjacent alkyl chains interacted with each other by van der Waals interaction. When t… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
