Abstract:The conversion of copper sulfide mattes lacks fundamental kinetic information for understanding the process. This work presents the results of the experimental measurement of the rate of oxidation of molten white metal by supplying individual air bubbles. The bubbles were characterized from information collected during the experiments and through theoretical and empirical correlations. Conversion tests were carried out at different temperature conditions and injection dynamics of the oxidizing gas. The results… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
