La comprensión del funcionamiento de los mercados eléctricos en las aulas requiere el uso de simuladores informáticos dada la imposibilidad de participar en mercados reales, por lo que resulta necesaria la incorporación de entornos virtuales que simulen aquello que ocurre en los mercados reales. Sin embargo, a la hora de diseñar estos simuladores, suelen obviarse aquellos escenarios que no cumplen la teoría económica, lo que elimina una gran mayor parte de los casos donde los fallos de mercado no se tienen en cuenta. En particular, en este artículo se describe y analiza la metodología de role playing en simuladores del mercado eléctrico con condiciones de poder de mercado. Los resultados y opiniones de los estudiantes son presentados para validar la idoneidad y la utilidad de este tipo de metodologías.

An electric vehicle (EV) centred ecosystem has not yet been formed, the existing limited statistic data are far from enough for the analysis of EV users' travel and charge behaviors, which however tends to be affected by many certain and uncertain factors. An experimental economics (EE) based simulation method can be used to analyze the behaviors of key participants in a system. However, it is restricted by the system size, experimental site and the number of qualified human participants. Therefore, this method is hard to be adopted for the behavioral analysis of a large number of human participants. In this paper, a new method combining a questionnaire statistics and the EEbased simulation is proposed. The causal relationship is considered in the design of the questionnaires and data extraction, then a multi-agent modeling integration method is introduced in the EE-based simulation, which enables the integration of causal/statistical/behavioral models into the multi-agent framework to reflect the EV users' travel willingness statistically. The generated multi-agents are used to replace human participants in the EE-based simulation in order to evaluate EV users' travel demands in different scenarios, and compare the differences of simulated or measured travel behaviors between potential EV users and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle users.

This paper presents a computer-assisted method to teach and understand transmission pricing techniques. The education method is facilitated by specially designed user-friendly transmission pricing software (TPS). The proposed approach helps students fully understand transmission pricing through the fulfillment of the following educational objectives: 1) use of TPS to solve the transmission pricing problem of a small power system as well as a real-world power system; 2) complete understanding of the mathematics involved and development of software code to reproduce part of the results of TPS; 3) analysis of the results, identification and justification of the differences among three transmission tracing techniques and eight transmission cost allocation methods; and 4) extension of TPS methodologies. These methods have been proven effective in the education of students studying power system economics at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. A full-fledged, robust, comprehensive study of the educational improvements achieved through the use of TPS is provided.
