Experimental Research on Seismic Performance of a New-Type of R/C Beam-Column Joints with End Plates

Abstract: This paper presents a new-type of fabricated beam-column connections with end plates. The joint details are as follows: the concrete beams are connected to column by end plates and six high strength long bolts passing through the core area. In addition, in order to increase the stiffness and shear strength, stirrups are replaced by the steel plate hoop in the core zone. To examine the fail behavior of the fabricated beam-column connection specimens, a quasi-static test is conducted for nine full-scale models t… Show more

“…Hysteresis curves (Li et al ., 2017) can reflect the characteristics of structural deformation, rigidity degradation and energy dissipation in the process of repeated stress. Figure 9 plots the lateral load-displacement hysteresis curves of RC1-RC7 specimens under low-cycle loading and which were measured directly through the force and displacement sensors in the actuator at the RC specimen top.…”

“…In recent years, the construction industry h as innovated in the production of new materials with an ecological trend [13] that provide energy savings and minimum cost in their production, generally these materials are produced with waste materials already made [14] that st ill have a very long useful life to reach the final degradation process. Plastic is one of the materials that takes the longest time to degrade, extending up to 500 years [15], which generates a long-term environmental problem. Decent housing must be friendly to the environment since it mu s t reduce the gray footprint with ecological proposals [16].…”

“…The effect of axial compression ratio on fire resistance is studied. Based on the pseudo-static test of a new type of the end-plate connected prefabricated concrete beam-column joint (Li et al , 2018; Li et al , 2017), the author carry out the research on the fire resistance performance of the joint. Based on the fire resistance performance of the prefabricated joint member (Li et al , 2020), the fire resistance of the joint in the whole frame structure is analyzed.…”
