Experimental Research on the Technical Parameters of Laser Engraving

Abstract: The process route for obtaining the processing parameter data through the engraving test first and then using these data for laser engraving was formulated. Through laser engraving experiments on a variety of materials such as wood, bamboo, paper, plastic, leather goods, PCB, acrylic, glass, paint layer, etc., we studied the changes of laser engraving with laser intensity, engraving speed, and black and white contrast. The physical process of laser engraving is analyzed, and the laser engraving of different ma… Show more

“…Khan conclusion: the surface quality can deteriorate with increasing distance from the laser defocus, but a smoother surface can be achieved by reducing the amount of time that the laser beam is focused on the material. Xie et al [10,13] came to the same conclusion. The signal-to-noise ratio, often known as the S/N ratio, is a measurement that indicates the level of quality in a process.…”

“…Laser scribing technology has been actively developed in recent years and is replacing conventional mechanical methods. Laser engraving provides high precision for a wide range of materials in a contactless high-speed process with a high power of laser beam [3], [4]. Ultrafast lasers are favored to be engaged in laser engraving applications [5].…”
