Abstract:This study conducted asynchronous parallel high-speed vertical water entry experiments, acquiring trajectory for dual cylinders under varying lateral spacings and time intervals. The findings reveal that instability and tail slap phenomena are predominantly observed within the range of dimensionless time intervals less than 1 for the first cylinder. Instability manifests primarily as rotational instability. During the clockwise rotation of the first cylinder, the deflection angle exhibits an inverse relationsh… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
