“…Following previous literature on disclosure practices in LGs (Brusca et al, 2016;Ramírez et al, 2022;Tejedo-Romero & de Araujo, 2020) Population Size was measured as the natural logarithm of LGs inhabitants (Raimo et al, 2022;Tavares & da Cruz, 2020), while Population Density was determined as the ratio between the total resident population in the municipality and the surface of that area, expressed in square kilometres (Narbon-Perpina et al, 2020;Raimo et al, 2022). Retired People expresses the degree of seniority of the population and was proxied by the percentage of inhabitants with more 65 years (Narbon-Perpina et al, 2020), while Multiculturalism expresses the presence of foreigners and was measured by the percentage of foreigners residing in the municipality (Guillam on et al, 2016).…”
