Exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) shows that there is a significant spatial autocorrelation of tourism development in China, which is manifested by the aggregation of spatial distribution. The results of the great likelihood estimation of the spatial lag model show that the parameters ρ of both the total tourism income model and the domestic income model are significantly positive, indicating that the spatial linkage between agricultural and rural tourism income is very strong and the spillover effect of agricultural and rural tourism is larger than that of overall tourism. Tourism superstructure facilities, human resources, and tourism infrastructure are statistically significant and are important influencing factors for overall tourism and agricultural and rural tourism development. And the overall fit of agricultural and rural tourism model is poor. The findings of the study better grasp how to make rural tourism make a greater contribution to the regional economy of Chengdu and maximize its positive role, and put forward relevant countermeasure suggestions, which will provide theoretical guidance and decision-making reference for relevant departments on how to better play the economic effect of tourism, and will also have a realistic reference role on how to develop rural tourism in western cities of China.

Allotment gardens (AGs) are widely used in metropolitan areas around the world to offer agricultural opportunities to urban residents. However, there are not enough individual plots for residents to rent for urban gardening, and research on AGs from a city-wide perspective is ongoing. In addition, AGs have a long history in Tokyo, yet few international studies on the current situation of AGs have addressed Asian cities. Thus, this study intends to analyze the provision of AGs and its influencing factors in Tokyo. Using ArcGIS combined the 472-points dataset created by geo-coordinate mapping with urban GIS data to reveal spatial characteristics in four dimensions. Results demonstrate that most AGs are in the urbanization promotion area; most municipalities have AGs; AGs are concentrated within 20 to 30 km from the center of Tokyo; the AGs’ clusters are located at the municipal boundaries. We conducted multiple regressions to determine the influencing factors at the municipal level, with the provision that AGs are related to population density, land price, and the ratio of productive green space. The policy implication of this study is that policymakers need to consider the siting strategy of AGs based on spatial characteristics of AGs.

Urbanization increases the scales of urban spaces and the sizes of their populations, causing the functions in cities and towns to be in short supply. This study carries out functional space identification on the Dujiangyan elite irrigation area based on remote sensing data and point of interest (POI) data from Open Street Map (OSM), enabling the use of POI data to analyze rural functional spaces. Research and development and big data can greatly improve the accuracy of spatial function recognition, but research on rural spaces has limitations regarding the amount of available data. The Dujiangyan Irrigation District has low spatial aggregation levels for functions, scattered functions and linear distributions along roads. The mixing degrees of regional functions are low, the connections between functional elements are insufficient, and the comprehensive functional quality is low. The features of various functional elements in the region are significant, mostly in the discrete distribution mode, and functional compounding has become a trend. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate spatial resources and improve the centrality of cities and towns to realize the optimal allocation of resources and enable the development of surrounding cities and towns.
