Abstract: Long regarded as illicit substances with no clinical value, N-dimethylated tryptamines—such as N,N-dimethyltryptamine, 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine, and bufotenine—have been found to produce naturally in a wide variety of species, including humans.
