Exploring the Effects of Acid Fuchsin on Microscopic Morphology and Properties for Polypyrrole

Abstract: is synthesized via in situ chemical oxidative polymerization in the presence of acid fuchsin (AF) which works as both the dopant and structure-guiding agent for polymerization of pyrrole. The electronic conductivity is measured in detail, showing that the addition of AF plays a key role in regulating and even deciding the morphology and the electronic conductivity of the resulting PPy. In addition, the effects of some polymerization conditions including temperature, reaction time, kinds of doping acid and oxid… Show more

“…14,15 Polypyrrole has attracted wide attention due to its availability, simple synthesis, good stability, easy film formation and high conductivity. 16,17 However, the conductivity of polypyrrole is poor, so it is necessary to improve the School of Textile Science and Engineering, Tiangong University, China conductivity of polypyrrole by doping. 18,19 Doping is the introduction of doping agents into the conjugated polymer skeleton structure, the essence of which is the electron transfer or redox reaction on the conjugated polymer chain structure.…”
