Abstract:Salt stress significantly limits cotton growth and development, making the improvement of salt tolerance critical. CMF genes, containing a single CCT domain, are promising targets for breeding programs. We identified 101 CMF genes from four cotton species. Phylogenetic analysis grouped these genes into six clusters closely related to Arabidopsis. Gene structure and motif analysis showed high conservation, while collinear analysis indicated segmental duplication as a key factor in CMF gene family expansion. Pro… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
