Exponential TEM horn with a convex triangular arc

Abstract: TEM ahorn antennas are well known for their ultra-wideband capabilities and are widely used. However, axial symmetry of the radiation pattern over such a wide frequency band is difficult to achieve. In this paper, a modification is proposed to the exponential TEM horn in the form of a convex triangular arc at the mouth of the antenna. The modification improves the axial symmetry over a wide bandwidth.
