“…Our group has long been devoted to the construction of inorganic–organic hybrid complexes by the template method which is one of the most important strategies for the synthesis of rotaxanes. Different templates result in different inorganic motifs including a discrete, 1D to 2–3D framework, which becomes an urgent problem to directional synthesis these complexes. Our recent work found that side chains of methyl substituent in bis­(pyridinium)­alkyl dication templates could give more interactions and facilitate the formation of 2D polypseudorotaxane frameworks as shown in Scheme , so far representing an underdeveloped route that could complement other better studied threading strategies.…”
