“…It presented an interesting contribution of ω-3 and ω-6 fatty acids that could be attractive for reformulating meat products [15,24]. Hemp oil (Cannabis sativa L.) is composed of a well-balanced fatty acids and antioxidant profile, is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, principally the omega-6 linoleic acid (55.41-56.94%) and contains gamma and alpha linoleic acids (0.64-1.10%, 16.51-20.40%) [25,26]. Buckwheat is a pseudo-cereal with a high nutritional quality known for being a dietary source of dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.…”

“…Additionally, previous studies have shown that liquefied DME can extract a variety of functional substances, such as astaxanthin [50,51], fucoxanthin [52], lutein [29,53], resveratrol and its glycosides [54], catechins and caffeine [55], tocopherol [56], gingerols and capsaicin [27]. Among these substances, carotenoids, such as astaxanthin, fucoxanthin and lutein, are hydrophobic, therefore difficult to encapsulate into liposomes by mechanical methods.…”

“…Pressurized extraction technologies, classified as green extraction, avoid harmful organic solvents and are increasingly favored for extracting plant materials and other natural products. In particular, subcritical pressurized conditions, where liquefied dimethyl ether (DME) is used as a solvent, allow to successfully extract water, oils, lipids, and specific organic compounds from various natural sources. The subcritical dimethyl ether extraction (SDMEE) is operated by introducing commercial liquefied DME into a reactor via its vapor pressure at low or room temperature. No reports exist on the use of DME in the subcritical fluid extraction of triterpenoids from CRs. However, in a previous study, triterpenoid saponins have been extracted from Centella asiatica (L.) Urb., which suggests the potential of SDMEE for extracting triterpenoids from CRs.…”
