Abstract:Samples of germanium borosilicate glasses with chemical formula 50.5B2O3 + 0.5CeO2 + 10SiO2 + (20‐x) CaO + 19Na2O + XGeO2 with 0 (GeO0) ≤ X ≤ 5 (GeO5) mol% were fabricated by using the melt quenching technique. Structure, physical, and optical properties as well as radiation attenuation capacity was examined. XRD data confirmed that GeOX samples were in amorphous state.
