Facile Routes to Sodium Tetradecaphosphide Na4P14 and Molecular Structure of Na4(DME)7.5P14 and Na4(en)6P14 (DME = 1,2‐Dimethoxyethane; en = Ethylenediamine).

Abstract: Phosphorus I 0063Facile Routes to Sodium Tetradecaphosphide Na 4 P 14 and Molecular Structure of Na4(DME)7.5P14 and Na4(en)6P14 (DME = 1,2-Dimethoxyethane; en = Ethylenediamine). -The structures of title compounds (III) (triclinic, space group P1, Z = 2) and (V) (monoclinic, P21/c, Z = 2) are determined by single crystal XRD. The anion in both compounds consists of two nortricyclane P7 cages which are connected by a P-P bond. DME in (III) acts as chelating solvent resulting in discrete Na4(dme)8P14 molecules a… Show more

“…28 Thus, in order to accomplish a facile solvothermal reaction towards crystalline red phosphorus and to better understand the phase transition pathway, the selection of a mild nucleophilic solvent and appropriate reaction conditions to activate a-RP is of great significance. [29][30][31][32] Herein, we developed a solution-phase solvothermal pathway to prepare Form II red phosphorus by employing 1,2diaminopropane as a nucleophilic agent and systematically characterized the crystalline products. Crystals with high quality were obtained via optimizing the synthesis procedure, in which the reaction mechanism was demonstrated.…”
